Mark your calendars and prepare for the two long weekends this Christmas season. December 24 and 31 – both Fridays – have been declared as special non-working holidays by President Noynoy Aquino. Therefore, we have a long weekend starting Christmas eve (Dec. 24) until Monday (Dec. 27). Matutuwa mga procrastinators nito.
December 27 will be observed as a holiday under “Under Republic Act 9492” (holiday economics law), which states that National holidays are to be moved to the nearest Monday. The 30th of December is Rizal Day, the 27th is the closest Monday.
December 28, 29, and 30 are regular working days. Thus, Dec. 31 – Jan. 2 is another long weekend.
