Hi to all Pandaquenos,

I’m also curious about this “Buling-Buling” bcoz wala naman ‘to sa Pandacan every fiesta - that I knew of - until we moved to Valenzuela City in 1977.
Kung hindi ko ‘to nakita, in print dito sa site, at may magasabi sa’kin, “Pare, tara punta tayo sa buling-buling.” mag-register agad sa mind ko is yung magpapagulong ng mabigat na bolang itim, patutumbahin yung mga bowling pins, hahaha...nah, I’m just kidding.

What is Buling-Buling really? How did they come up with the words “Buling-Buling?” How is this came about? Who conceived this? What was the motivation, if there was any? Uhm... to generate sales???

Even so, this is an event that we can have fun and good lasting memories. That we can share and talk about with our children - and their children - in a living room, lighted by candles or a gas lamp because it’s brownout, when we grow old.
This is a good time also for a strong bonding with our families and loved ones, taking wacky pictures and just having pure fun.

May we celebrate this “Buling-Buling” yearly with a tradition of unity, respectfulness, sobriety, wholesome entertainment, and peace to all Pandacaquenos.

Pandacan has more to offer than you'l ever know, a small place with a big heart to give.

Pandacan are known for its fiesta that always held on the 3rd week of January every year. We have various people dancing on the street that we called "Buling-buling". Buling-buling are held every saturday before the fiesta itself. Our town's Mayor, Councilors, Barangay Chairmans and it's Kagawads and even Teachers from different schools with their students are there or here to join the street dance called Buling-buling. The starting point of its street dance can be located at the back of Jacinto Zamora Elementary School or Labores Street (before) or also known as Librada Avelino Street (now). They all dance all the way up to Liwasang Balagtas. They wear different costumes and colors that represents their club, schools or organizations. Different marching bands also participated in it since they are also seeking for the blessing of our patron Sto. Niño. Banda Zamora as far as I have know is the oldest marching band of Pandacan (and maybe the first). There are some Ati-atihan that can be seen also participating in this event and even our Police Officers from Presinto Diyes. But the best part of the Buling-buling is when the two church fiesta are held at the same date. FYI guys, we have different religion and churches here in Pandacan, besides from the Roman Catholic Church that our Sto. Niño stands we also have the Sto. Niño of Iglesia Filipina Independiente. They also have their own Sto. Niño, but explaining this may take a while, so for now its about Bulig-buling.

So guys, hope to see and hear from you soon.
