In less than two weeks, we will be celebrating Pandacan’s 298th Anniversary (Araw ng Pandacan). We started celebrating this event last year. The group spearheading this annual festivities – Samahang Sining at Kalinangan ng Pandacan – has provided a week-long cultural activities for everyone to participate in and enjoy!
This year’s Pandacan Day theme is: “Gising Pandacan! Kasama ng Kabataan“. The activities prepared by SSKP fit perfectly for the youths and youths-at-heart. Notable celebrity joining the event is ethnic musical genius, Joey Ayala, who will be performing for free on the 29th of May along with Bagong Lumad.

- May 22-23 – Kasiyahan at Paligsahan
- May 24-28 – Mukha ng Pandacan, Palihan sa Dula (Free Theater Workshop by NCCA)
- May 27-28 – Dula-dulaan sa Bahay na Tisa tampok ang “May Isang Sundalo”
- May 29 – Konsierto sa Liwasan tampok si Joey Ayala at ang Bagong Lumad
- May 30 – Araw ng Pandacan – 298th Anniversary (various activities below)
ARAW ng PANDACAN Events (May 30)
- Lakbayan sa Pandacan – parada ng mamamayan, sektor at opisyal ng bayan (see route below)
- Santacruzang Bayan – featuring representatives from different baranggays (see route below)
- Tanghalang Sining at Kalinangan – theatrical shows at Liwasang Balagtas (see more info below)
- Pailaw sa Kaarawan – Fireworks display

- Lakbayan sa Pandacan Route – Starting Point at Bagong Baranggay Covered Court, exit at Gate 1, left to West Zamora, then left again to Quirino Avenue (Counter flow), right to East Zamora, then left to Hilum. Right to T.San Luis, then left to Jesus St., cross Quirino Hi-way going to Dra. Paz M. Guazon (Otis). Finish at Robinsons Otis.

Ibig lamang naming linawin na ang SSKPIL o Samahang Sining at Kultura ng Pilipinas, Inc. ay walang kinalaman o kaugnayan sa Samahang Sining at Kalinangan ng Pandacan, Inc. (SSKP) na siyang pasimuno sa pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Pandacan sa taong ito. Ang bawat samahan ay may kanikanya at sariling pamunuan. Ang nauna ay may pambansang simulain at ang huli ay may lokal na adhikain para lamang sa Pandacan.

Sa Pandacan nag-uagat ang pusong makabayan… Sa simulain nina Padre Jacinto Zamora, Ladislao Bonus, Ramon Bernardo, Faustino Villaruel at marami pang iba. Ang masidhing pagmamahal sa lupang tinubuan at pagnanais na makita itong malaya ang nagbigay dahilan sa mga taong ito na i-alay ang kanilang buhay para sa bansa.
Hindi mapapalitan kailanman ang dangal na ibinigay nila para sa bayang ito, kung kaya’t sa ganoong kadahilanan na ang Samahang Sining at Kalinangan ng Pandacan ay nagsikap upang ipaglaban ang nararapat na para sa bayan; at kahit kailan taas noo naming ipagmamalaki na Pandacan ang nauna sa aming mga adhikain. Sa simula’t simula pa… Samahang Sining at Kalinangan ng Pandacan, Naitatag, natatangi at nararapat mangalaga ng Sining at Kalinangan ng Pandacan…Para sa Pandacan.

I would like to ask why the zamora elem school of pandacan was not informed about the orientation last jan. 13 2011. we only relay on the guidelines copied or xerox by the aguinaldo elem school to one of our teacher when she passed the list of buling-buling participants, that is why we are misleaded by your guidelines that our representative for the orientation went to liwasang balagtas on that day according to your guidelines. they were not even informed to go to that library when was the orientation held. We are not going to fallow the guidelines sched for that orientation if someone called us to inform our coordinator, but no one was informed us…:sad:

Samahang Sining at Kalinangan ng Pandacan was in close coordination with the office of the mayor and the division of city schools. as per our last meeting with them (Jan 10) at the oval room, we were informed that they will be decreasing the number of participants due to lack of subsidy which will come from the city government. We were asked to coordinate with the coordinators of 5th and 6th district to inform which school will be attending the Festival, and these coordinators assured us that they will be informing the schools within their jurisdiction
With regards to the sudden change of venue, we have to admit that we lack time in informing all the schools and we apologize to the said incident. It just so happened that the form given to you contains un-edited part and was prior to the arrangement with the kapitan isidro mendoza library.
Again, we apologize, but then again, we thank you and appreciate your effort that even with the said circumstances, you manage to fulfill your duty as a people dancing and giving glory to our Patron; Samahang Sining at Kalinangan ng Pandacan maybe spearheading our big events but still we should always put in mind that the Fiesta is not a feast of the festival handled or spearheaded by our group; instead it is the Feat of our God which calls each one of us to respond and give glory to the very best.
On our part, rest assured that we are taking note of all this incident and we will do our best to improve our coordination with our schools with due respect to our protocol and LGUs.
