Goodbye, Pres. Corazon “Cory” Aquino

Former Philippine President Corazon “Cory” Aquino has passed away this morning at 3:18 August 1st, 2009 Manila Time, twenty days before the death anniversary of her husband Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino – an opposition senator who was shot to death after his exile from the United States.

Cory died of cardio-respiratory arrest, according to her son and Philippine senator “Noynoy” Aquino during an interview. She was 76.

Cory Aquino was a symbol of democracy. She led all Filipinos in the bloodless revolution in 1986 forcing the then-president Ferdinand Marcos to flee.

    Isang  Pilipino na naging simbulo ng demokrasya sa buong mundo. Isang taong  nagbibigay inspirasyon sa mga Pilipino na matawag na Pinoy kahit saang panig ng mundo. ;-(

    Marahil hindi lahat ng Pilipino ay kinikilala ang kanyang naging ambag sa kasaysayan lalot higit sa larangan ng pulitika. Katunayan lamang ito na ang tao ay hindi natutumpak sa lahat ng bagay.
    Hindi niya ito ikinaila sa lahat.
    Sa gayong katayuan ni Gng.  Aquino ipinakita niya na nararapat siyang kilalaning. “Kinikilala at matayog man ang lipad tunay ngang nagkakamali rin.” Ipinakita mo sa amin ang pagiging dakila ng pag-amin sa mga pagkakamali. Sa bawat pagkakamali na nagawa, ito’y may karampatang pagbabalik-loob at pag-aming katapat.
    “Ang paninindigan mo sa katotohanan ay tunay na nag-aalab sa puso ng bawat Pilipino.”  Di ka nag-iisa!
    Di ka lamang larawan ng isang tunay na pinuno, bagkus larawan ka din ng isang tunay na Kristiyano.
    Para sa akin, tunay kang dapat ipag-pugay… Pangulong Corazon C. Aquino!
