Here’s one school for performing arts in Pandacan: SUPERVOICE. I know its founder – Sheila Noreen Lopez-Gamo – and I had been to their previous location in Paco when they were just starting with a handful of students. Now, SUPERVOICE has a community of its own.

Do you want to excel in singing, dancing or acting? Are you looking for a school that can teach you all of this? Well guys, there is and it is located here in Pandacan. The Supervoice Music & Theater Foundation, Inc. is the school for all who wants to be an artist of your dream.

What is Supervoice? What are they and what can they do to you? Supervoice is…

1. A place to develop your talents.  We train our young artists in Musical Theater. Singing, Dancing and Acting for the stage and sometimes on TV are what we do best.

2. A second home where you meet new friends and enjoy learning and performing together.

3. A place of healing from your problems as our members go through a new method called PSYCHOLOGICAL THEATER, developed by Sheila Gamo.

4. A place of growth. Our actors are trained through SUPERVOICE’s D.A.R.T. training method where they are molded to be disciplined, compassionate and responsible individuals.

5. A place of praise and worship.  Although our actors come from different religious beliefs and cultures, we offer our performances to God as one. Our activities are ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.

6. A place of opportunity. Supervoice also handles talents for TV and events. Many of our students are now big stars here and abroad.

7. A place of Charity and Love.  At present SUPERVOICE handles workshops for abused children of BANTAY BATA 163 of ABS-CBN (since 2003).  We also gave workshops for the children of the 71 DREAMS FOUNDATION and helped with the fundraising shows of the PHILIPPINE INSTITUTE FOR THE DEAF. Our artists are trained to teach and help others with their talents.

8. A place of Counseling.  Our president, Sheila Lopez – Gamo is a columnist for CAVITE EXPOSE with  her weekly column LOVE SPOKEN HERE.  She gives advice to people with love problems. Aside from this, she also gives couseling to young people about their relationships with their families and friends for free.

9. A theater group.  Supervoice original Filipino Musicals are Entertaining, Educational, Inspirational and contain no Foul Language. Each musical tackles a moral issue in our society. Our shows are:  WINDANG (anti-drugs),  PABAON (importance of the family),  HESUS NA BUHAY (selfless love),  AGAW BUHAY (save the environment),  MALI SYA (anti-abortion),  RIZAL BEHIND BARS (love for country),  OUR LADY OF CANDELARIA (prayer and faith),  ALL THAT I’LL EVER NEED (truth &  love),  FLORANTE AT LAURA (Love and loyalty).

10. A family. Our shows are written, directed and choreographed by Sheila Lopez – Gamo. Original Music is composed by her father Norrie Lopez. Artistic Direction and costume design is done by her mom Annie Lopez. Visual Arts Design is done by her yonger brother Don Lopez. Technical Direction is done by her husband, Mike Gamo. Yes, the whole family works together to keep this foundation going.
